Mark Selby fights back to lead Shaun Murphy after first day of final

  • Selby recovers from slow start to hold 10-7 advantage
  • Murphy had led 5-3 after opening afternoon session

Mark Selby threatened to squeeze the life out of Shaun Murphy as he seized the advantage in the second session of their World Snooker Championship final at the Crucible.

Selby won seven out of the nine frames played on Sunday night to turn a 5-3 deficit into a 10-7 lead heading into Monday’s conclusion of the best-of-35-frame encounter.
