Horse Racing – Postponed set to run at Longchamp

Trainer Roger Varian has hinted that Postponed will run in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after winning his last five starts. Postponed was denied the chance to defend his crown in the King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot by a respiratory infection, but Varian has confirmed that he is on track for York's Juddmonte International later this month, a race he is 11/4 with bet365 to win. The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe rather than the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot has been put forward by Varian as a potential follow-up to York. "Postponed wasn't 100 per cent before the King George, so he didn't run," Varian said. "I'm happy with him now and he's on course to run at York. "After that he's more likely to contest the Arc." Postponed can be backed at 5/1 to win the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.
