Golf – Rest does the trick for Woods

Tiger Woods insists the neck injury that caused him to withdraw from the recent Arnold Palmer Invitational will not force him to miss this week's Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Woods says that he is feeling much better after a week's rest as he steps up his preparations for next month's US Masters. He said: "The neck isn't painful now. It was getting to the point where it was just gradually getting worse. "I've gotten a little bit more consistent with my play and I think that everything is headed on track towards the Masters." Woods has played in three tournaments so far this year, finishing in a tie for 20th in the Farmers Insurance Open before being joint 15th at the Genesis Open and tied 10th at the WGC-Mexico Championship. Woods is 25/1 with bet365 to win the Players Championship and 11/2 to clinch a top-five finish.
