Golf – McIlroy ready for Masters tilt

Rory McIlroy believes he is in good shape to mount a Masters challenge, having secured a one-shot victory at the Players Championship. The Northern Irishman held his nerve to register a one-shot win at TPC Sawgrass, with McIlroy pleased with his efforts on a course which he felt was similar in set-up to that expected at Augusta next month. And, having not won a major since his victory at the USPGA Championship in 2014, he is eager to try and add to his four majors in the near future. He told Sky Sports: "I feel like I'm playing some of the best golf of my life right now and I just need to keep doing the same things. "If I go to Augusta with a similar game and attitude, then I think I've got a great chance." McIlroy, who has finished inside the top ten at Augusta in each of the last five years, is currently priced at 15/2 with bet365 to win the Masters this year.
