World Series Game 6: Cubs crush Indians to set up historic decider

When Game 7 ends on Wednesday night at Progressive Field one of baseball’s most famed droughts will finally end. And one will remain agonizingly out of reach.

The Chicago Cubs set up a decider in the best of seven series after they defeated the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night with an early display of the offense that has often deserted them during this most thrilling of series. It was two of their young stars who sparked victory. Kris Bryant scored a solo home run in the first inning before Addison Russell tore the game apart at the top of the third, giving the Cubs a 7-0 lead. Despite a minor fightback from the Indians it was a lead Chicago would not relinquish for the rest of the evening.
