The Pac-12 stages a Top 10 clash at the McKale Center in Tucson on Saturday when the Arizona Wildcats welcome in the Utah Utes.

Fresh from a stunning upset to Oregon State in Corvallis, the Wildcats eased by Colorado on Thursday with a 68-54 defeat of the Buffaloes.

Freshman Stanley Johnson continued his maturation process with a season-high 22 points on 7-of-15 from the floor and 8-of-9 from the line while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out three assists in a strong performance.

Kaleb Tarczewski chipped in with a further 14 points for the Wildcats who still look the class of the Conference despite the fact that Utah are now ranked two places above them in the latest Associated Press Top 25.

Like Arizona, the No. 8 Utes also have two defeats this season having fallen to San Diego State and Kansas in non-conference play by a combined seven points.

That and an overtime victory over then eighth-ranked Wichita State has propelled Utah in the rankings and Larry Krystkowiak’s side have opened Pac-12 play in convincing fashion with comfortable victories over USC, UCLA, Colorado and Arizona State.

Over in the Big 12, Iowa State must rebound after losing to the Bears of Baylor earlier in the week. First in the nation in assists per game the Cyclones will certainly need that kind of unselfish play when the Kansas Jayhawks arrive in town on Saturday to be followed by Kansas State three days later.
