Weld rules out Cheltenham for Forgotten Rules

Dermot Weld says the Cheltenham Festival is not on the agenda for Forgotten Rules.

Trainer Dermot Weld insists Forgotten Rules will not be heading to the 2015 Cheltenham Festival.

The high-class Flat stayer had been considered a possible entrant in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle after victories at Galway and Ascot, in the British Champions Long Distance Cup.

However, Weld has stressed that Forgotten Rules won’t be competing at Cheltenham or jumping over obstacles in the foreseeable future.

“I’m seeing his price shortening for the race but I want to make clear he is on his holidays and has not seen a hurdle. Hurdling was never on his agenda and he certainly won’t be running at Cheltenham,” Weld is quoted as saying by Sporting Life.

Douvan is available at 5.00 in the win and each way market ahead of the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in March, while Tell Us More can be backed at 17.00 and Moon Racer is 21.00.
