Torres vows to find form

Fernando Torres is confident he will be able to fire Milan up the Serie A table.

Fernando Torres is confident he can rediscover his goal scoring touch after a disappointing start to his AC Milan career.

The Spanish striker joined the Italian giants on loan from Chelsea in August but he has managed just one goal in nine Serie A appearances, and there have been claims the Rossoneri are trying to find a way to cancel the loan deal.

Torres, however, is convinced he can be a success at the San Siro and wants to be the top goalscorer in Serie A this term, with the striker currently seven behind pacesetters Carlos Tevez and Jose Callejon of Juventus and Napoli respectively.

The frontman feels Milan are creating enough chances, and he is confident he can start finding the back of the net sooner rather than later.

“If a game ends goalless, but we’ve created five chances, that’s a good sign,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“There have only been a few games where we’ve created less than we should have. However, it’s now up to us, the forwards.

“My goal is still to be top scorer. Milan brought me here to score and take advantage of chances, it’s my job.

“If I don’t do someone else will take my place.

“Having said that, scoring goals isn’t an obsession. If I see a team-mate in a better position I will pass it to them.”

Milan host city rivals Inter on Sunday and Torres is 7.00 to score the first goal of the game, with the Rossoneri priced at 2.62 to secure the win.
