Tennis – Smith: Murray right to miss Davis Cup tie

Davis Cup captain Leon Smith has admitted that the Great Britain players will miss Andy Murray in this weekend's first-round tie against Canada. Dan Evans, Kyle Edmund, Jamie Murray and Dom Inglot will represent Britain in Ottawa and are 2/9 with bet365 to beat Canada. "It's the right thing for him to do what he's doing, stay at home, get some rest," said Smith. "We all miss Andy because he is such a great influence on the team both on and off the court." Canada will also be without their leading player, Milos Raonic, after he picked up an injury during his defeat to Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open. Great Britain can be backed at 7/1 to win the Davis Cup outright this year.
