Tennis – No Melbourne action for Gasquet

Richard Gasquet, who has reached the fourth round of the Australian Open on four occasions, has been forced to withdraw from next month's tournament because of injury. The 32-year-old Frenchman has failed to recover from the problem that caused him to miss France's Davis Cup final against Croatia last month. Gasquet said: "I've got a kind of strain at the top of my left leg. I hope to be back playing in February but what is certain is that January is completely out for me." Meanwhile, defending champion Roger Federer is 5/1 with bet365 to win the 2019 Australian Open outright. World number one Novak Djokovic can be backed at 5/4.
