Tennis – Mixed emotions for Djokovic

Novak Djokovic looked to the positives of being back on court after suffering a surprise second-round exit at the Indian Wells Masters. The 12-time Grand Slam champion was making his first tournament appearance since being forced to undergo surgery on an elbow problem which ended his bid for Australian Open glory prematurely. However, Djokovic looked far from his best as he was beaten 7-6 4-6 6-1 by Taro Daniel of Japan and the Serb admitted afterwards that he had struggled badly. He told reporters: "It felt like first match I ever played on the tour. Very weird. I completely lost rhythm. "I was grateful to be out on the court that quickly after surgery, but at the same time I just didn't feel good at all." Djokovic is now priced at 9/2 to win the French Open, having been crowned champion in Paris in 2016.
