Tennis – Konta targets Paris redemption

Johanna Konta has opened up about the "heartbreak" she suffered after losing in the semi-finals of the French Open but hopes she gets another shot in Paris. The 29-year-old, 20/1 with bet365 to win the 2020 French Open, proved herself capable of competing for Grand Slam titles when reaching the semi-finals of the 2016 Australian Open and the Briton has also reached the last four at Wimbledon, losing out to Venus Williams in 2017. A three-time winner on the WTA Tour, Konta suffered another Grand Slam near-miss when she was beaten by Marketa Vondrousova in the semi-finals of last year's French Open. Not previously known for her clay-court prowess, Konta had reached the finals of both the Morocco Open and Italian Open on the surface before her French Open run. Speaking in an interview with the Daily Mail, she said: "There was a bit of heartbreak for me. It was a tough match to lose because I had opportunities."
