Tennis – Konta progresses in Rio

Great Britain's Johanna Konta has booked her place in the third round of the women's singles event at the Olympics after a fine win over France's Caroline Garcia. The world number 13 is now set to face Russian eighth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova and is 8/13 with bet365 to secure victory in the last-16 encounter. Konta has been pleased with her performances in Rio so far and is hoping to see her journey continue, as she edges closer to the medal places. She said: "I'm grateful to be here and I get to say I'm an Olympian. I'm here to compete and I'm really enjoying being part of the whole thing."
