Tennis – Isner at home on clay

Veteran John Isner is looking forward to the challenge of a slower surface when he goes in search of a second title at the US Men's Clay Court Championships in Houston. American Isner won the tournament back in 2013, having also reached the final 12 months earlier, enjoying success on what would not appear at first glance to be a surface which suits his big-serving game. And, having made the quarter-finals last year in Houston, Isner is happy to embrace the challenge of the claycourts on home soil, before getting ready for the upcoming programme in Europe. He told the official ATP Tour website: "If it's a warm day, the clay is a little bit fast, but it also bounces up high. That's perfect for me. I want a fast court for my serve, but I want a high-bouncing court for the rest of my game." Isner is priced at 3/1 with bet365 to win the title in Houston.
