Tennis – Edmund sees off Seppi in Shanghai

Kyle Edmund has marched into the last-16 of the Shanghai Masters courtesy of a comfortable straight sets win against Andreas Seppi. The 23-year-old British number one is enjoying a good run of form in the latter part of the 2018 season having jumped up to a career-high 14th place in the world rankings on the back of last week's charge to the semi-finals of the China Open. And Edmund, who is 33/1 with bet365 to seal his first ATP Tour title in Shanghai, followed up his first round win against Serbian Filip Krajinovic, with a 6-4 6-3 victory against his 34-year-old Italian opponent on Wednesday. He will now face Chilean world No 48 Nicolas Jarry after he dumped out fifth seed Marin Cilic 2-6 7-6 7-5 in their second round clash.
