Tennis – Djokovic set to take a break

Novak Djokovic is pondering taking a break from tennis after an elbow injury ruined his chances of winning a fourth Wimbledon title. Djokovic trailed by a set and 2-0 to Tomas Berdych in their quarter-final when he was forced to retire, with the former world number one confirming that a long-standing elbow problem had become too painful to continue. He told reporters: "It's not the shoulder, it's the elbow that has kept bothering me for over a year and a half. "I haven't felt this much pain ever since I've had this injury, so it's not a good sign. Obviously the schedule will be readjusted. "I'm not thinking too much ahead because I'm not able to play. I'll try to understand everything that goes around and we'll see where I can play next." Djokovic, the 2011 and 2015 champion, is 11/4 with bet365 to win the US Open later this year.
