Tennis – Djokovic refreshed for Rio

Novak Djokovic claims he has recharged his batteries and is in good form ahead of the Olympics in Rio this month after he defeated Kei Nishikori to win the Rogers Cup in Toronto. The 29-year-old Serbian took a break from the game after a shock third round defeat against Sam Querrey at Wimbledon ended his ambitions of claiming a career calendar Grand Slam. However Djokovic has enjoyed a successful return as he started his hardcourt campaign with some strong displays in Canada, culminating in a comfortable 6-3 7-5 final win against his Japanese opponent to secure a 30th ATP Masters title. The world number one will now attempt to claim a gold medal at this month's Olympic Games, before attempting to retain his US Open title, which he is 8/11 with bet365 to do. Djokovic said: "I raised the level of my game as the tournament progressed and today was the best performance of the tournament at the right time so hopefully I can carry this win and this confidence into Rio as well."
