St Louis Rams edge closer to Los Angeles move

The NFL’s return to Los Angeles has moved closer after Stan Kroenke, the owner of the St Louis Rams, announced plans for a new 80,000 stadium in the city.

The Rams left Los Angeles in 1994, the same year as the Raiders departed to Oakland, leaving the city without an NFL team. According to the LA Times, Kroenke has joined forces with Stockbridge Capital Group, the owners of the Hollywood Park site. They plan to build an 80,000 capacity stadium on land that already includes a complex of retail, office and residential space. According to the Times, no tax dollars would be needed to fund the project.
