Soccer – Wenger fears missing out

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger accepts it will be difficult to take if his team miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League and a place in the Champions League next season. The Gunners play host to relegated Sunderland on Tuesday, before completing their league campaign at home to Everton next Sunday. And they will probably need to win both games to have any chance of overhauling either Liverpool or Manchester City for a place in the Champions League next season, with the Gunners 5/1 with bet365 to finish in the top four. Wenger accepts that his side could miss out on the top four even if they better their points tally of 71 from last season, which was good enough to secure second place behind Leicester City. He told reporters ahead of the clash with the Black Cats at the Emirates Stadium: "We have 69 points and we can get to 75, which would be four points more than last year, so let’s focus on finishing as well as we can. "I think the only chance we have now to be in the top four is to win all of our games. If we finish outside the top four it will be down to one point, and one point will be hard to swallow."
