Soccer – Ward-Prowse set to boost Saints

Midfielder James Ward-Prowse is on course to overcome a knee injury in time to feature for Southampton when they play host to Burnley on Saturday. Ward-Prowse, who has been filling in at right-back recently, suffered a deep cut to his knee during the 3-2 FA Cup defeat at Tottenham Hotspur, but Saints head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl is confident that his player will be ready to face the Clarets. He told his club's official website: "We tried to keep him out as long out as possible, as players always like to come back on the pitch. "He handled it well, I think. We must now pay attention that the cut is not going to open again, but it looks good and hopefully he can play at the weekend. He looks good and is an important player for our team." The Saints were beaten 3-0 when they took on Burnley at Turf Moor on the first weekend of the season and are 3/4 with bet365 to exact revenge by claiming victory on Saturday.
