Soccer – Vardy ruled out of double-header

Gareth Southgate has opted not to replace Jamie Vardy who has been forced to withdraw from the England squad for the games against Scotland and France because of injury. Southgate's only attacking options in the absence of the 30-year-old Leicester City striker will be Jermain Defoe, Harry Kane, 5/4 with bet365 to score at any time in the World Cup qualifier against Scotland at Hampden Park on Saturday, and Marcus Rashford. England beat Gordon Strachan's team 3-0 at Wembley seven months ago and are 11/1 to repeat that scoreline this weekend. They visit France for a friendly international next Tuesday.
