Soccer – Surman suffers rare injury blow

Eddie Howe hopes that the international break will come at a good time for Andrew Surman, who sustained a hamstring injury in the closing stages of Bournemouth's 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough. The 30-year-old former Southampton and Wolves midfielder had been the epitome of consistency over the last two seasons, featuring in every minute of 86 successive league games. However, he missed the recent 0-0 draw at Tottenham due to illness and will sit out Saturday's clash against rock-bottom Sunderland, 1/4 with bet365 to be relegated from the Premier League this term. Howe said: "Andrew has been so consistent and was ever-present for a long time. He hasn't really picked up any niggles or problems. "When you see players go off with hamstring injuries, you are looking at weeks rather than days. The international break could come at a good time for him." Bournemouth are 15/2 to beat Sunderland 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium but they are then without a game until 19th November when they face Stoke City.
