Soccer – Sturridge set for short lay-off

Alan Pardew anticipates that Daniel Sturridge will be able to return to action for West Brom's crunch relegation battle against Huddersfield Town on 24th February. The striker, who is on loan at The Hawthorns from Liverpool, had to be substituted after only three minutes of Monday's 3-0 defeat at Chelsea because of a hamstring injury but Pardew does not think the problem is serious. Albion are seven points away from safety with 11 matches left. They can be backed at 4/11 with bet365 to be relegated this season, while they are 13/8 to beat Southampton on Saturday in the fifth round of the FA Cup. Baggies boss Pardew said: "Daniel felt his hamstring after a 60-metre sprint in the first moments of the game. We'll have to nurse him. He won't play against Southampton but hopefully the week after."
