Soccer – Stam primed for Old Trafford return

Jaap Stam is looking forward to returning to former club Manchester United when his Reading side travel to Old Trafford on Saturday in the FA Cup third round. The Dutchman won the FA Cup, as well as three Premier League titles and the Champions League, during his playing days with United and the Royals manager is keen to get one over on his former employers. Stam accepts most observers will expect a home win, but he is confident Reading can compete with the in-form Premier League outfit. "You need to enjoy it but you'll enjoy it even more if you get a result," he said, as reported by Get Reading. "The thing is if you go into these games, you enjoy them and you play against a very good side, but it doesn't mean if you play a side like that at Old Trafford you're going to lose straight away. "You need to give it your best shot, work very hard and be confident in how you play. And then I'm sure we can do well against them. "They will probably want to finish the game as quickly as they can so we need to be prepared in what we expect." Reading are 14/1 to secure the win with bet365, a draw is 6/1 and United are priced at 10/3 to come out on top with a -3 handicap.
