Soccer – Southgate happy to have Kane as his captain

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been named as England's World Cup captain. Gareth Southgate has been impressed with the 24-year-old's desire and believes Kane's high standards will bring out the best in the other players. Kane, 5/4 with bet365 to be England's top goalscorer in Russia, has found the net 12 times in 23 appearances for his country since making his international debut against Lithuania in March 2015. "Harry has some outstanding personal qualities," said Southgate. "One of the most important things for a captain is that they set the standard every day." England are available at 11/5 to be eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the World Cup.
