Soccer – Smith happy with underdogs tag

Huddersfield Town captain Tommy Smith is confident that the Terriers can defy expectations and avoid relegation from the Premier League this season. Town will be playing in the top-flight of English football this term for the first time since 1972 and are 4/6 with bet365 to be relegated back to the Championship at the first time of asking. Their first game of the season is at Crystal Palace on Saturday, and David Wagner's team can be backed at 4/1 to beat the Eagles. "People didn't expect anything from us last season and look what we achieved," said Smith. "We are more than happy for people to write us off and more than happy to be the underdogs, that's absolutely fine. But as long as we go about our business in the right way, which I'm sure we will, then I see no reason why we can't give it a good go."
