Soccer – Poch plays down title hopes

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino has played down the chances of his Spurs side being crowned Premier League champions this season. Tottenham moved up to second place in the table by thrashing Bournemouth 5-0 at Wembley on Boxing Day, with reigning champions Manchester City slipping to third as they were beaten 2-1 at Leicester City. And, while Pochettino is delighted with the way his team are performing at the moment, he is wary of getting too carried away about the prospects of success over the coming months. He told reporters: "It doesn't mean too much to us to be second or third. The most important position is when you finish in May. "The next game is always more difficult than the one before. If we can keep our level, then maybe we can talk about a title challenge at the end of the season." Spurs can be backed at 8/1 with bet365 to be crowned champions this season.
