Soccer – New arrivals set to boost Swansea

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has promised that the club are close to signing up to two new players. It has been a difficult summer for the Swans as Eder has moved to Lille and Bafetimbi Gomis has joined Marseille on loan, while Ashley Williams is being linked with a transfer to Everton and West Ham want Andre Ayew. There has been some good news for the club though as Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson has inked a new four-year deal this week. The Swans are 10/3 with bet365 to be relegated this season while they are 7/1 to beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor on 13th August. Jenkins said: "We are delighted to get Gylfi's signature on a new contract and we fully expect to make one or two additions in the next few days. "I think it's been a frustrating summer so far for everyone, but every person connected to this football club has been working non-stop to get the squad right in all areas to start the season."
