Soccer – Moyes vows to stay put

Manager David Moyes has pledged to stay in charge of Sunderland next year and spearhead their efforts to secure an immediate return to the Premier League. Doubts over the future of Black Cats boss Moyes have been doing the rounds since their demotion to the Championship was confirmed by a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Bournemouth last weekend. However, Moyes is now content to stay in place, following talks with club chairman Ellis Short and chief executive Martin Bain. He said ahead of a tough trip to Hull City on Saturday: "I've got a four-year contract and I'll be Sunderland manager next season. "I know what needs to be done to get back in the Premier League and I know what the requirements are to do that." Sunderland, who are without a win in their last ten games, are 7/1 with bet365 to claim victory at the KCOM Stadium.
