Soccer – Mourinho virtually concedes title

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has virtually accepted that the 2-1 derby defeat against Manchester City has ended their Premier League title hopes. The Portuguese tactician watched as Marcus Rashford levelled for his side just before half-time at Old Trafford on Sunday after David Silva fired City ahead moments earlier. However, Pep Guardiola's men won the game when Nicolas Otamendi scored after the interval to put the visitors back in front. Mourinho, who claimed referee Michael Oliver made "a mistake" when he booked Ander Herrera for diving instead of awarding United a 79th minute penalty, suggested that the Red Devils' are out of the running to win the title with City now 11 points ahead of them. When asked if he felt that was the case, he said: "Probably, yes. Manchester City are a very good team and they are protected by the luck, and the gods of football are behind them." United are 16/1 with bet365 to overhaul their neighbours and win their first title since 2013.
