Soccer – Mourinho eyes long-term United stay

Jose Mourinho has responded to talk linking him with a return to Real Madrid by stressing that he would like to remain at Manchester United beyond his current deal in 2020. The Portuguese tactician, who has endured a difficult start to the season at Old Trafford, has been surprisingly linked with a move back to the Santiago Bernabeu as a possible replacement for Julen Lopetegui whose position is under threat after Real's run of four defeats in the last five games. However, Mourinho, who guided Los Blancos to the Spanish title and Copa del Rey when he was in charge between 2010 and 2013, is adamant that he has no desire to leave the Red Devils before his contract expires in summer 2020 and beyond. Speaking ahead of United's home Champions League clash against Juventus on Tuesday, which the Red Devils are 21/10 to win with bet365, Mourinho said: "I am happy to see out my contract to the very last day of that contract and I would like to stay after my contract runs out as well."
