Soccer – Kolarov’s departure moves closer

Aleksandar Kolarov is on the verge of ending his seven-year association with Manchester City and signing for Roma. The 31-year-old was not involved in City's 2-0 pre-season friendly defeat to Manchester United and Pep Guardiola confirmed after the game that the defender wanted to leave. Guardiola, who has signed Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva and Ederson this summer, said of Kolarov: "I don't like working with people who don't want to stay. He has a big chance to go to Roma. "He has said he wants to leave. I wish him all the best." Kolarov joined City in 2010 from Lazio for £16million and has gone on to play 247 times for the club. City are 6/5 with bet365 to clinch more than 80 points in the Premier League this season while they are available at 15/8 to win the title.
