Soccer – Klopp cool over Reds lead

Manager Jurgen Klopp says a six-point lead in the standings will mean nothing if Liverpool fail to go on and claim the Premier League title come the end of the season. A 4-0 Anfield rout of Newcastle United on Boxing Day lifted the Merseysiders well clear of the chasing pack, with reigning champions Manchester City losing ground as they lost a second successive match. However, Klopp is taking nothing for granted, with Arsenal and the Citizens the next two opponents for his in-form outfit. He told reporters: "It means nothing. We play Arsenal and City (in our next two games), so it's good that we have six points more than other teams, but that's pretty much all. "What we wanted to do all the time was create a situation, a basis for the rest of the season and now the first part of the season is over. A good situation, that's clear, but 19 games to go." The Reds can be backed at 8/11 with bet365 to be crowned champions this season.
