Soccer – Gerrard confident Hagi can flourish at Ibrox

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has backed Ianis Hagi to handle the pressures of playing for the Ibrox club after signing him on a permanent basis. The son of Romanian legend Gheorghe, 21-year-old Hagi has agreed to terms on a three-year deal with Rangers after impressing whilst on loan at the club this season. Hagi says he knocked back interest from elsewhere to remain at Ibrox and has insisted that it was his "priority was always to return to Glasgow and play for Rangers". The 21-year-old's commitment will be music to the ears of Gers manager Gerrard, who says Hagi has been a pleasure to work with since arriving at the club from KRC Genk and thinks he'll have no issues living up to the expectations of the Light Blues' faithful. "He has already experienced the pressure and expectation of Ibrox, I know he is ready for next season," Gerrard told the Scotsman.
