Soccer – Garde takes the positives

Head coach Remi Garde is desperate to see his Aston Villa side maintain the momentum gained from a four-game unbeaten run. The Villans were far from impressive in a 2-0 FA Cup third-round replay win over Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday evening, but Garde was looking for some positives to take into the ongoing struggle to try and move away from the foot of the Premier League table. He told reporters: "I think we have the momentum still, yes. "Four games unbeaten now is very good, but we have done nothing and won nothing, of course. But from the situation we were in the past few weeks, I prefer this one now. "It is also important for the players to have scored two goals, but we have to do better than this if we are to keep that momentum going." Ahead of a derby clash with West Brom at The Hawthorns on Saturday, Villa are ten points adrift of safety and 10/1 with bet365 not to be relegated.
