Soccer – England handed Sturridge boost

Daniel Sturridge returned to England training on Monday as he bids to secure a place in the final Euro 2016 squad. Manager Roy Hodgson has already confirmed midfielder Fabian Delph won't be in his final 23-man squad, meaning two further players will be omitted when the final squad is named. Hodgson must announce his final squad for the finals in France by Tuesday and Sturridge is the only player in the provisional squad who did not feature in the last two friendly games. Marcus Rashford's performance against Australia on his senior international debut has seemingly put Liverpool star Sturridge's place in doubt after an injury interrupted campaign. However, the striker will be hopeful of securing a place in the 23-man party after his return to training following a calf injury. England are 17/2 to win Euro 2016 outright with bet365 and 19/20 to win their opener against Russia.
