Soccer – Draw no concern for Hallgrimsson

Coach Heimir Hallgrimsson says he has no fears about Iceland having been placed in potentially the toughest group at World Cup 2018. The Euro 2016 quarter-finalists are making their World Cup debut this summer and take on Argentina, Croatia and Nigeria in Group D - a section which is as close to being a group of death as any. However, Hallgrimsson is far from daunted by that prospect, as he feels his team could benefit from an easier draw if they are able to progress to the knockout stages of the tournament. He told The Guardian: "If or when - I don't know which word to use - we get through there's not going to be any opponent much tougher than Argentina, Nigeria or Croatia. "It gives you the feeling that, if we qualify for the last 16, we shouldn't fear anyone." Iceland can be backed at 11/4 with bet365 to qualify from Group D, while they are 1/4 to be eliminated at the group stage.
