Soccer – Deschamps praises “important” Payet

France boss Didier Deschamps has hailed Dimitri Payet as "very important" as his side edge closer to their Euro 2016 opener against Romania on 10th June. Les Bleus, who are 3/10 with bet365 to beat Romania in their opening game of the tournament, managed to secure a 3-2 win over Cameroon on Monday night. It was West Ham star Payet who bagged a last-minute winner and Deschamps believes the 29-year-old will be a key figure this summer at the European Champions. He was quoted by Sky Sports, saying: "It's been three weeks since he played. “This game was good for him, to get back into the pace. He can do better, but every time he touches the ball, there is something happening. And he has the quality of set-pieces, free-kicks, corners and it is something important. "He is very important."
