Soccer – Clucas verdict boosts Swans

Swansea City will have midfielder Sam Clucas fit and available to feature against West Brom this weekend. The 27-year-old had to be replaced early in the second half of the 2-0 defeat at Manchester United last weekend, with initial fears suggesting that a knee problem could rule him out for the rest of the season. However, former Hull City star Clucas has made a quickfire recovery and is in line to be involved when the Swans head to The Hawthorns to take on the rock-bottom Baggies on Saturday. City head coach Carlos Carvalhal told reporters: "Clucas is ready and 100 per cent. I was very concerned it was about the external ligaments and it was very painful on the day, but the next day when we came back to training he was much, much better with little pain. "The pain disappeared and the scan showed nothing special." The Swnas are 12/5 with bet365 to secure a crucial win at West Brom on Saturday.
