Soccer – Battling Burnley please Dyche

Burnley boss Sean Dyche was pleased with the way his side battled to a 1-0 victory against Stoke City on Tuesday. An uneventful match, which was spoiled by the terrible weather at Turf Moor, seemed certain to finish in a stalemate until substitute Ashley Barnes smashed home a late winner for the Clarets. The result lifted Burnley up to fourth in the Premier League table and they are 21/10 with bet365 to beat Brighton in their next match on Saturday with Barnes 12/5 to score at any time. "We weren't quite at the races in the early part of the game but we came more into it in the second half," said Dyche. "The wind was swirling, the rain was all over the place, the pitch was taking a battering, but I'm really pleased with that result."
