Soccer – Arsenal energy delights Vieira

Arsenal legend and former skipper Patrick Vieira has praised current manager Mikel Arteta for bringing energy back to the club and getting the players onside. The Gunners started the season under the stewardship of Unai Emery but the former Sevilla coach was dismissed at the end of November after a five-match winless run left them eighth in the standings. Arteta has lost only two of his first 15 matches in charge and has guided Arsenal into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, in which they are due to face Sheffield United. And Vieira, who captained Arsenal when they went a season unbeaten to win the 2003/04 Premier League title and is currently the manager of Nice, has heaped praise on the 38-year-old. He told Adidas: "What is really interesting with Arteta is that he brings the energy back and it looks like they are playing for the club but for the manager as well, and I think that is really important." Meanwhile, France are 11/2 with bet365 to win Euro 2020.
