Soccer – Alves explains PSG choice

Brazil international defender Dani Alves has explained his decision to snub Manchester City and instead opt to join Paris Saint-Germain, who are 18/1 with bet365 to win the Champions League. The 34-year-old wing-back has penned a two-year contract in the French capital, having previously been expected to head to England to link up with the Citizens. And Alves, who worked with City head coach Pep Guardiola during his time with Barcelona, says he made the choice of his next destination with others in mind, having gone it alone when he signed for Juventus a year ago. He told L'Equipe: "There was not only interest from Manchester City, but from other English clubs. "I have often said the Premier League intrigues me a lot and there is a very interesting project there too. "I believe in happiness - that's why I made the decision to come here. If Guardiola feels wronged, I apologise."
