Soccer – Alonso relishes Blues stay

Spain international Marcos Alonso is confident of more success in the future, having signed a new five-year contract with FA Cup holders Chelsea. The 27-year-old left-back has already helped the Blues to FA Cup and Premier League glory in his two full seasons at Stamford Bridge, and he is confident that there will be more silverware to come in the next few years. Alonso told his club's official website: "I am so happy to stay here longer and to keep playing for one of the best teams in the world. It's been a very good two seasons and I am looking forward to more." The former Real Madrid and Fiorentina ace has scored 15 goals in 92 appearances for Chelsea to date and during his time at the Bridge has broken into the Spain national team set-up, making his debut in a friendly against Argentina earlier this year. Meanwhile, Chelsea are 5/1 with bet365 to win the Europa League this season.
