Soccer – Aguero exit talk rubbished

Sergio Aguero will be staying at Manchester City this summer, chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak has confirmed. There had been question marks over the future of the 28-year-old Argentina international, who joined the Citizens from Atletico Madrid in a £38million deal in summer 2011, after he slipped behind January signing Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order. However, when the 20-year-old Brazilian suffered a broken foot in mid-February, Aguero forced his way back into the side and ended the campaign with an impressive 33 goals. City boss Pep Guardiola has remained coy over the player's future, but Al-Mubarak insisted that he will not be leaving the Etihad Stadium. When asked if Aguero would be staying put, he told the club website: "Absolutely. There’s never been a doubt about that. I’ve read a lot of the speculation on this and it’s ridiculous." City are 2/1 with bet365 to win the Premier League in 2017-18 having ended this past season without any silverware.
