Saracens Premiership champions after Alex Goode ends Exeter fightback

Saracens have completed their European and Premiership double, the first side to do so since 2004, after weathering a second-half fightback from Exeter. They responded to Jack Nowell’s converted try, which brought the Chiefs back to within three points with five minutes to play, with Alex Goode, the man of the match, crossing to make the final score 28-20.

Exeter did themselves justice in the second half and both Dave Ewers and Nowell can take great credit for their performances after the break. The Chiefs lost the match in the first half, though, and could not come back from 23-6. It was cruel lesson learned in their first appearance in a Premiership final.
