Rugby Union – Schmidt seeks the complete performance

Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt knows that it will be difficult for his side to stop Wales completing the Grand Slam on Saturday. Warren Gatland's team are 4/5 with bet365 to clinch their first Six Nations title since 2013 while Ireland have struggled to put together a complete performance in this year's competition after being stunned by England on the opening weekend. Although they beat France on Sunday, Schmidt was disappointed that his Ireland team could not have played at their maximum for 80 minutes. He said: "I can be satisfied with that first 40 minutes, probably 50 minutes, but I don't think 50 minutes will be enough to win in Cardiff. "The home crowd get right behind the Welsh team there. You've got to put 80 minutes together in Cardiff." Ireland can be backed at 1/1 to beat Wales.
