Rugby Union – Gatland targets World Cup win

Warren Gatland has pledged his future to Wales and is confident that he can guide the team to World Cup glory in Japan in 2019. The 54-year-old is now in his tenth year as coach of the Welsh side, although he has taken time out to lead the British and Irish Lions in Australia and New Zealand in 2013 and this past summer respectively. There was talk of Gatland departing for pastures new this year, but the New Zealander has now spoken out ahead of this month's autumn internationals to confirm that he is staying put and is looking to lead the Principality to World Cup glory, which they are 18/1 with bet365 to achieve. Looking ahead to it, he said: "Apart from New Zealand, traditionally World Cups are won by teams in their late 20s and early 30s which we should have."
