Rugby League – Hill insists Kangaroos can be beaten

Chris Hill believes that the narrow semi-final victory against Tonga will stand the England players in good stead when they come up against Australia in the World Cup final. England were beaten by the Kangaroos in their opening tournament fixture before going on defeat France, Lebanon and Papua New Guinea and then holding on to triumph 20-18 against Tonga. Wayne Bennett's side had led 20-0 with seven minutes remaining only for Tonga to score three tries of their own in a dramatic finale. "No words that went through my mind in the last seven minutes against Tonga are printable," said Hill. "I know it was nervy but it was a good experience. "We took encouragement from it in that we held them out to secure the win." England are 23/4 with bet365 to win the World Cup final while an Australia victory is available at 3/25.
