Reece Prescod and Dina Asher-Smith storm to British 100m titles

• Asher-Smith takes women’s 100m in record 10.97sec
• Prescod victory secures European Championships place

When Reece Prescod arrived for breakfast on Saturday he wore a T-shirt with a solitary word on it – Berlin. It was a sign of his confidence, and his powers of prophecy. A few hours later, the 22-year-old showed he was Britain’s best sprinter as he glided away from a stacked field to book his place at the European Championships in the German capital.

He will be joined by Dina Asher-Smith, who stormed away to win the women’s 100m in 10.97sec – a championship record – and Morgan Lake, who set a personal best by clearing 1.98m in the high jump.
