Ravens off to visit New England

Quarterback Joe Flacco leads the Ravens to New England once again.

The road to the Super Bowl once again leads to New England for the Baltimore Ravens, who travel to Foxboro to take on the Patriots this weekend in an AFC Divisional Round match-up.

Winners of the Super Bowl two years ago against the San Francisco 49ers, the Ravens arrived at that title game after they got the better of Tom Brady and the Patriots 28-13 at Gillette Stadium, as Joe Flacco outplayed his counterpart in the AFC Championship.

Called the best quarterback in football by his head coach John Harbaugh after Saturday’s victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card game at Heinz Field, Flacco does seem to rise to occasion in the post-season.

A former member of the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens, the seven-year veteran was once again mistake free against the Steelers, completing 18-of-29 for 259 yards and two touchdowns in the 30-17 triumph. Flacco almost certainly will need another errorless outing if Baltimore is to move deeper into the play-offs.

The Ravens are now 17.00 to win Super Bowl XLIX, with the Patriots 4.00 and the Denver Broncos 6.00.

Meanwhile, in Indianapolis the Colts eased by the visiting Cincinnati Bengals with a 26-10 victory at the Lucas Oil Stadium.

Andrew Luck was 31-of-44 for 376 yards and one ridiculously brilliant on the run touchdown pass to Donte Moncrief to set up a trip to Denver to take on Peyton Manning and the Broncos.

Which Indianapolis side will turn up waits to be seen as the Colts have been something of a Jekyll and Hyde club all year.

Is it the team that won five of six down the stretch to secure yet another AFC South Division crown or the side that got waxed by the Dallas Cowboys, Steelers and Patriots?
